The final pieces.

I have now finally made all of my final pieces. At my show there is going to be my painted leather jackets, my badges, wallpaper, wall art, t-shirts, skateboards and helmets.

The skateboards and T-shirts were last minute ideas but I have to say I am really proud of my final outcomes and I wish I had even more time to make some more skateboards as I think they look really good.

My favourite design.

One design that sadly isn't going to be printed onto good quality paper is the one below. I really like this design but as it doesn't fit well with my other designs it isn't going to be pinned onto the walls in my show :

Wall art.

Again, like with the wallpapers, it has taken a lot of decision making in picking the final designs for my wall art. It will be nice seeing them on paper.

Wallpaper.

After a lot of decision making I have chosen my two final wallpapers. I am really proud of these designs and I cant wait for them to be printed out.

Painting the jackets

After a few trial samples I have finally started my leather jackets. I am really pleased so far with what I have painted onto the jackets and feel that they will work well with my other designs.

Dexter - blood spatter inspiration.

Recently I have been watching the TV show "Dexter". This show is about a man named Dexter Morgan who works as a blood spatter pattern analyst during the day but at night he's the one creating his own blood spatter patterns as he is a secret serial killer.

It sounds rather weird but when I am watching the show I find myself being inspired by all the blood spatter patterns so I thought I would put it on my blog as its related to my designs.

Montage.

Inspired by Neasden control centre I have decided to try out doing some of my own montage compositions.

These designs could potentially be a start to my wall art/ mural/ wallpaper.

For my Professional Development module I have created quite a few different business cards.

Contemporary wall art and murals.

I have been thinking a lot about my final major project and what I want all of my final products to be so I have come to the conclusion that at my show I would like to have :

3 helmets
3 painted leather jackets.
wall paper/ wall art/ wall murals
selection of small badges.
vinyl stickers.

I will probably change my mind at some point though!

Painted Leather.

I have decided that for my final major project I am not only going to be doing designs for helmets but I will also be painting designs onto leather jackets, fitting in with the grunge biker theme.

I am going to have to try very hard when painting as I haven't painted for a very long time as my preferred method of designing is drawing.

Monoprinting - Tracey Emin

I really like monoprinting, how a design instantly has texture once the ink has dried.

I have decided to try out some monoprinting as i want to create new textures for my designs

Black and white designs.

Inspired by Miwa Matreyek I have created some designs that are black and white.

I have added a little blue bird to one of my "Tree head" designs and I quite like that little splash of colour however it also looks nice just black and white.

Colour Palette inspiration - Ford fiesta.

I saw the new Ford fiesta advert and was really inspired by all the beautiful vibrant colours on a background of black. I particularly liked the shades of purple and blue as they really stood out to me and I think this may influence my designs.
