New Designs...

Here are a few of my new designs combining organs and machinery together.

I am very inspired by the animated short films that animator, designer, and multi media artist Miwa Matreyek creates. I love the vibrancy of the colours on the black backgrounds and also how everything flows together, like a good design.I also really like just the simple black and white parts of the animation too.

Neasden control centre.

I have come across "Neasden control centre", a London studio by illustrator Stephen smith and I find his work very inspiring!

Vinyl Stickers.

I have been thinking a lot lately about my designs and what I would like to see them on for my final year show. I think more than anything I would love to see my designs on motorbike helmets. Now I need a solution to my wish...

I was thinking vinyl stickers could be a way of applying my designs to helmets. They are widely used on vehicles, especially to brighten them up.

One company that aim to brighten up vehicles is www.hippymotors.co.uk.
I found their website really friendly and liked their ethos "Okay we know vinyl is not and never will be envionmentally friendly but this is what we believe.
We hope that our stickers will help people love the car they have and not want to buy another. That way we're all happier. "

Silver ink splatters and tools.

I have been experimenting with my ink again and been having a jolly good time with it too. I never use to like playing about with materials as I have always been really happy doing my rather structured fine liner designs but have actually come to love being a little bit more free with my work.

Combining my new ink splatters with some of my new tool designs has been rather fun too. In fact I think that's the most fun part of my design work!

Anatomy Of the Bike.

I have decided to go ahead with my idea of doing designs of the anatomy of the bike. I didn't know where to start really so went to the library and took out a few books. Something that I particularly wanted to draw is the engine as this is in my opinion the heart of the bike. I have drawn a line version of the engine and plan to incorporate my ink splatters into it to give it a whole new look.
I think I might do some metallic ink splatters in silver and gold to give it more of a machine feel rather than my usual splatters of red and blue.

Guy Martin.

After watching "TT: Closer to the edge" I Decided to have a quick look on the Guy Martin Website and was instantly inspired by the design and layout of the page.

I particularly like the "grungy" oily styled background and the combination of that with faded out images and tools.

This has started to make me think that I might like to incorporate tools into my work. I think it would be a good idea to do the anatomy of the bike too. Both man and machine together.
